2019 Innovation & Excellence

The Florida Student Success Center in the Florida Department of Education's Division of Florida Colleges, with support from the Florida Chamber Foundation, Helios Education Foundation and Jobs for the Future, is pleased to announce the 2019 Innovation and Excellence convening. This year’s convening is being held on the afternoon of June 19, 2019, following immediately after and in the same location as the Florida Chamber Foundation’s 2019 Learners to Earners Summit (Note: Interested parties must register separately for each event).

This year, Florida College System institutional leadership teams will assemble to:

  1. Identify strong partnerships, skills and programs that help students obtain — and succeed in — the jobs of tomorrow;
  2. Highlight innovative methods for enhancing college access and achievement through clear pathways; and,
  3. Examine data and discuss institutional decision making to improve the success of all students.
Specific agenda highlights include national leaders and higher education innovators from across the state who will discuss the future of workforce and strategies that ensure students are placed on pathways that prepare them for success. College teams will also have time to review their data on key performance measures disaggregated by student demographic characteristics, as well as be guided through a reflection exercise to assess current institutional status and determine next steps.

Florida Student Success Center coaches will be on hand to assist at the convening and will follow up with interested institutions for additional coaching, workshops and customized technical assistance related to strengthening pathways for all students.
